If you prefer to navigate electronically, the GPS coordinates to our homestead are:
33° 12' 45" S | 19° 8' 10" E
IMPORTANT: Please only turn on your GPS once you have entered the town of Tulbagh.
Activating it too early may direct you to our neighbour’s farm, there is no road connecting their property to ours.

We are currently testing a new gate system with AI cameras on our main access road.
Please send us your vehicle registration number in advance, so the first gate can open automatically for you.

• Check-out: By 11:00
Our arrival procedure is a simple, self-check-in:
1. The first gate should open automatically if we’ve received your registration number.
2. The second gate requires the keypad code: 1098#
3. Once through the second gate, drive up to the Homestead area and look for the sign "KEY BOX".
Blue Butterfly Guests will find their keys at the group facility.
Here, you’ll find your cottage key in the wooden-glass case, along with directions to your accommodation.
Late arrivals are no problem; and don’t worry, no guest has gotten lost on the property yet!

Speed Limit on the Reserve

Please note that the speed limit on Welbedacht is 30 km/h at all times.
We have zebra, springbok, wildebeest, ostriches, tortoises and other small wildlife roaming freely. Animals often cross the road unexpectedly, especially early mornings and late afternoons. Even if the road feels quiet and open, please drive slowly. It keeps the wildlife safe, reduces dust, and protects the peaceful atmosphere of the reserve. This is their home first, we’re simply sharing it. |

Extras & Services
Firewood is provided. Additional bags are available at R50 each during normal business hours.
We won’t interfere during your stay, but if you need anything (fresh towels, assistance, etc.), simply send us a WhatsApp or SMS.

R75 per hour

Loadshedding
You can check the schedule under the Tulbagh (Witzenberg) area.
We provide small emergency lights in each cottage.
Bringing a torch or portable light is recommended.
Our gas stoves ensure you can still cook during power outages.
Don’t forget to look up at night - our clear skies offer spectacular views of the stars.

Pool Information & Guidelines
We have heated fibre pools for your comfort.
Heating is usually only activated during the colder winter months. During summer, the natural temperatures in the Tulbagh Valley are often more than sufficient.
If you would like the pool heated outside of winter, please let us know in advance so we can prepare it for your stay.
For the protection of the fibre shell and heating system, the pool temperature may not exceed 30°C.
We kindly ask that guests:
Do not jump or dive into the pool
Do not stand or sit on the pool equipment
Supervise children at all times
These guidelines help us maintain the pools in excellent condition for all guests to enjoy. Thank you.

Smoking & Fire Safety
Fynbos burns extremely easily, so fire safety is very important to us.
Fires are only allowed in designated areas.
No smoking inside the cottages or in the veld.
Smoking is permitted on the stoep. Please do so responsibly.

We work as a team at Welbedacht, and we take care of our guests collectively.
For this reason, we kindly ask that you do not leave cash for firewood, breakages, or individual tips.
